Description
Yarden is a wine produced by the Golan Heights Winery; it is a special winery, because it is one of the few companies in Israel that produces kosher wines authorized by the rabbis, and therefore also drinkable by Orthodox Jews. It has the Gewuztraminer designation, and is a still, semi-sweet, aromatic white, a wine that has a sweet aftertaste due to the presence of residual sugar, and which maintains in its organoleptic properties some peculiarities of the grape variety that are also perceptible in the final product. The grapes come from 100% Gewuztraminer aromatico vines, and grow on Israeli soil, specifically on the Golan Heights. Following the harvest and pressing, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks, which on the one hand maintain a constant temperature and on the other prevent exchanges of substances with the outside, thus preserving the spicy notes of Yarden. Aging is similarly conducted in steel tanks and completed in the bottle. The territory that hosts the vineyards extends over an area that covers the shores of the Sea of Galilee to the foot of Mount Hermon, with an altitude ranging from 600 to 1200 meters. The soil is volcanic and rich in basalt, a fundamental substance for ensuring excellent drainage. Furthermore, the temperate climate, given the proximity to Mount Hermon, allows the vines to grow optimally; it is precisely for this reason that the wine has received countless international awards.

Precisely in keeping with tradition, this winery is one of the few to produce exclusively kosher wines, i.e. wines authorised by rabbis and, therefore, drinkable by Orthodox Jews.
The vineyards are located on an area extending from the Sea of Galilee's shores to Mount Hermon's foot at an altitude of between four hundred and one thousand two hundred metres.
The volcanic, basalt-rich soil allows for excellent soil drainage and the relatively temperate climate, given the immediate vicinity of Mount Hermon, is ideal for growing vines. Thanks to the richness and uniqueness of this terroir, the wines produced in this region have a fine structure and lend themselves to ageing. Read more
