Description
What kind of wine is it
Girlan offers an elegant dry white wine that clearly expresses the character of South Tyrol. In the glass, the Chardonnay reveals a delicate bouquet, featuring notes of white peach, rosemary honey, subtle tropical hints and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the lively freshness supports a slender body, delivering a persistent and vibrant finish. Perfect as a refined aperitif, it pairs beautifully with raw seafood, fish risottos, white meats and Asian dishes.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from the hills of Oltradige and Egna, in the Lower Adige, at an altitude between 300 and 500 metres above sea level. The soils are rich in minerals and composed of glacial sediments, with a marked presence of volcanic porphyry rock and well-aerated calcareous-gravelly soils. Under the guidance of oenologist Gerhard Kofler, Girlan enhances this pedological matrix to give the wine a distinct territorial character, capable of delivering a vertical and savoury sip in the glass.
How is it produced
The harvest is carried out by hand, carefully picking the bunches to preserve the integrity of the skins. This is followed by a gentle pressing and clarification of the must through natural sedimentation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Maturation continues on the fine lees in steel, enhancing the structure and precision of the aromas without altering the varietal expression. This rigorous production process results in a vegan white wine with a taut and enveloping profile.
