Description

What kind of wine it is

Vigne Alto Adige Gewurztraminer is a still white wine that elegantly expresses the character of Gewürztraminer produced in Alto Adige. In the glass, it displays a bright yellow colour with subtle greenish highlights. On the nose, it reveals a clear aromatic profile, with an unmistakable bouquet of rose and fine spices. On the palate, it confirms its identity, offering a full, distinctive sip with remarkable structure. It is ideal paired with shellfish, refined gratin dishes and spicy cheeses.

Where it comes from

This Gewürztraminer originates among the hills of Alto Adige. The vines grow at an altitude between 400 and 750 metres above sea level, benefiting from a climate that enhances aromatic definition. The roots sink into gravelly alluvial soils, rich in stones, diorite and quartz phyllite. This mineral composition of the soil gives the grapes a rigorous expressive precision. The Guyot training system completes the agronomic management, ensuring bunches that fully reflect the mountain environment.

How it is produced

Harvesting begins in October to ensure perfectly ripe grapes. Vinification involves gentle handling and pressing to preserve the aromatic integrity of the Gewürztraminer berries. The must undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation, which locks in the typical varietal aromas. This is followed by maturation in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees, which imparts roundness and texture to the palate. The decision not to carry out malolactic fermentation preserves the freshness and expressive clarity of this white wine.

History and Curiosities

This elegant pure Gewürztraminer originates among the majestic peaks of Trentino-Alto Adige, at an altitude between 400 and 750 metres. The alluvial and gravelly soils enhance the aromatic profile of the grapes, which are hand-harvested at the beginning of October. Gentle pressing and maturation on fine lees in stainless steel, carried out without malolactic fermentation, preserve the unmistakable bouquet of roses and fine spices. The result is a wine with a full palate and remarkable structure, capable of evolving elegantly for up to five years after the harvest.
