Our Grand Vin is made from our beautiful gravelly plots, located 200 metres from the Gironde. It is a wine of elegance and finesse, with a lot of freshness and intense fruit. With a beautiful tannic structure, it can age for nearly 20 years. Château La Tour de By has been a member of the prestigious Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux since 1977.

Soil composition Graves with an alios subsoil. Ideally situated on two well exposed gravelly ridges between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, the terroir benefits from an ideal microclimate which allows the noble grape varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot to express all their qualities. The soil is worked in the traditional way. The estate uses natural compost.
Vinification Wooden and stainless steel vats equipped with automated temperature control allowing a vatting period of 3 to 5 weeks during the alcoholic fermentation.
Ageing 12 months in French oak barrels, 1/3 new, 1/3 one-wine, 1/3 two-wine.
