History |
The name Gewürztraminer goes back to the neighbouring village of Kaltern Tramin, where this variety was first mentioned in a document in the 14th century. Whether the variety really comes from Tramin is questionable. The fact is that it has a very long tradition in South Tyrol and produces excellent wines. |

Guyot and Trellised "pergola" system. |
Vinification |
Late harvest of particularly ripe and perfectly healthy grapes, destemming, cold maceration at 10°C for 12 hours, soft pressing, natural decanting, and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18-20°C. |
Ageing |
3 months on the fine lees in stainless steel. |
Pairing |
It pairs well with shellfish and pâtés. It is also excellent as an apéritif. |
