History	In 1469, the dynastic union between Castile and the Crown of Aragon was realised through the marriage of Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile. However, even after this union, the Crown of Aragon continued to constitute an autonomous state entity, with its own Parliament and legal system. The Crown of Aragon only ceased to exist following the promulgation of the Decrees of Nueva Planta (early 18th century), which sanctioned the definitive absorption of the Kingdom of Aragon into the Spanish State.
