History The Solaris vine was obtained in 1975 by Norbert Beker, crossing Merzling x (Zarya severa x Muscat Ottonel) and is recognized as a variety resistant to the main fungal diseases. The bud is open bronzed yellow and with a high presence of crawling hairs. Early vine both in budding and in flowering.
Ampelographic features The adult leaf is medium, three-lobed, slightly bullous, with slightly overlapping lobe petiolar sinus. Cluster of medium size and compactness. Medium-small, elliptical, short, yellow-green berry, intense when exposed to the sun.
Characteristics of the wine obtained from this grape variety The wines of the Solaris variety are characterised by their softness to the taste. The nose is very similar to the noble French varieties, in particular to the Chardonnay variety but complemented by a slight Riesling component. Spicy notes play only a minor role. More important are the aromatic notes, which are reminiscent of pome fruits, exotic fruits and stone fruits.
