Description
From Monferrato to the Langa. Originating in the hills of Monferrato, in the second part of the 19th century the Barbera vine reached the vine-growing areas in the Roero and then in the Langa. On these hills it selected, often in competition with Nebbiolo, the spaces most congenial to it, those where marly and compact marly and compact soils prevail and where the plants can benefit longer from the sun's rays. From this special symbiosis was born Barbera d'Alba wine was born from this special symbiosis. vineyards and cellars of Piedmont.
Balance and harmony. In this productive universe there are seven vineyards that grow Barbera on the Barolo hills; each original characters, dictated by the peculiarities of the soil and microclimate. At each harvest we hand-pick their bunches and vinify them separately to translate into wines the references of origin into the wines. From the blending of these wines comes our our Barbera d'Alba that we age for 15 months in containers of wood, especially new containers that better balance the wine's natural structure, deeply inspired by fruitiness fragrance and tannin that is never too incisive.

Sandrone’s Barolos are sometimes described as straddling the modern and traditional styles in the region: elegant, attractive and easy to appreciate right from their first years in bottle, but with no less power and structure than traditional Barolos. Along with the extremely low yields in the vineyard, Sandrone has a very rational approach in the cellar. This approach, however, is also unique and outside of simple classification, as Sandrone subjects his wines to a relatively short maceration period, does not use rotary fermenters, and makes limited use of new oak in the maturation process, all signs of a traditional approach in the cellar.
The new winery, built in 1998 at the foot of the steep Cannubi hillside in the heart of the Barolo district, is characterized by the respect for tradition and desire for innovation that also define Sandrone wines.
