Bouquet

It begins with clear notes of cherry in alcohol, sandalwood, eucalyptus and ash. Followed by gentle floral hints of violet and wild rose with dark spices in the background.

Flavour

Silky in the opening followed by a defined and cohesive structure. The finish is tasty and almond-flavoured, evoking liquorice.

Climate	Mediterranean, with mild winter, moderate rainfalls, and hot and windy summer. Exposure: North-East.
Soil composition	Limestone, rather stony.
Harvest	In mid-September, with a sugar content of 230 gr/l.
Vinification	Grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. Maceration is carried out at a controlled temperature of 24-26ºC for 8 days. Pumping-over is carried out every 6 hours for 10 minutes.
Ageing	In steel tanks.
Total acidity	5.40 gr/L
Residual sugars	1.80 gr/L
Allergens	Contains sulphites

I always use Xtrawine and the service is always good There appears to have been a change this time around with the wine sent direct from Italy. Previously orders on the .co.uk site came from London so arrived much quicker. This means delivery takes a bit longer although the packaging was much better than before. Overall, a great selection of Italian wines from an excellent seller.
