The Uberti winery was established in 1793 in thevillage of Salem in the town of Erbusco, when this family of winegrowers began producing Franciacorta wines even before they became famous.Beginning in 1980, Uberti imposed itself on the wine scene with the production of Classic Method sparkling wines that were both complex and refined.Today, the Cantina Uberti boasts some 25 hectares under vine with an annual production of 180,000 bottles and great popularity.Uberti prides itself on a method of production that respects the terroir by aiming to make the most of both existing and ancient vineyards. It is no coincidence that only natural fertilisers are used and that work in the vineyard is carried out using the hands and few mechanical tools. The Uberti Franciacorta wines are distinguished by their elegant taste and aromatic richness. At Xtrawine you can find a wide selection of Franciacorta Uberti wines, which have been awarded major prizes by the AIS Association, made from Chardonnay and Blend Rosso that go perfectly with your shellfish, pasta and cheese dishes. Story FRANCIS I: King of France from 1515 to 1547. His name is directly linked to the history of sparkling wine. At the time, one happened to come across 'sparkling wine' by chance, and this was considered a defect. The French king, who was busy modernising his court, declaimed the new virtue of sparkling wine against its detractors. These cultural claims could thus form the background that then led to the deliberate search for the technique to make wine 'deliberately' sparkling. This is the reason why the company dedicates an entire Franciacorta line to this historical character.
Origin Franciacorta hills, in the towns of Erbusco, Adro, Cazzago San Martino-Calino (Brescia) in the company vineyards.
Harvest Picked up by hand and selected.
Wine making The must obtained from a light pressing of the grapes ferments in stainless steel containers and it stays standing until the placing in bottle, where the refermentation of the wine occurs.
