The choice of Roberto Scubla, a former biology student, to leave the bank where he worked for the love of the countryside is the result of a passion cultivated since childhood when the fascination of hillside viticulture had won him over through frequenting the estate owned by an uncle.

In 1991, the winery was established starting from some old existing vines. Then, new vines were planted. Finally, in 1993, 10 hectares were planted with vines, on the slopes of a gentle, utterly sunny hillside, in the southern area of the Colli Orientali del Friuli region, a place of choice for wines with extraordinary harmonies of aromas and flavours.

From 1995 to 2000, the old rural building comprising the manor house and cellar was completely renovated.

Roberto Scubla has always been able to count on the support of experts of great stature, principally the oenologist Gianni Menotti, both in the countryside and the cellar. As a result, he launched a production of the highest quality standards, with recognition in the markets and in the specialised press at an international level.
