The Montebello Distillery was founded in 1930 by the Dolomite family; then it was called Carrère Distillery, by the name of the village where it is, near Petit Bourg.
The World War II period is difficult for this distillery, whose activity declines slowly until 1966, until it can not be transformed: in 1975, Carrère distillery was renamed "Montebello" and modernized, becoming the third rum producer Guadeloupe. Read more
