The nose is intense and mineral on white stonefruit (peach, pear), pear brandy, and a spicy yet elegant base of white pepper, licorice and wild flowers.

The robe is bright, with a gilded almost bronzed straw colour.

Finally the mouth marries harmoniously the round attack, the intensity of the fruit and the freshness of the finale. Beautiful mineral length on noble aromas of tea.

Edouard Guerin, Technical Director at Clos de l’Oratoire des Papes, is committed to cultivating the vines with the upmost respect for nature and the environment. The vines used to produce the wines of Clos de l’Oratoire des Papes are carefully preserved thanks to gentle and most importantly natural cultivation practices.

Since 2008 the vines at Clos de l’Oratoire des Papes have been cultivated using organic methods. 80 to 90% of the quality of the finished wine is determined by the vineyards. In order for the vine to remain in well nourished, in good health and well exposed, this precious terroir is cultivated using the most respectful cultivation practices possible. Although man cannot influence the deeper structure of the soil, what he can do is intervene in almost all other parameters in order to ensure the highest quality possible in the finished wines.

Soil composition Eclats Calcaires (limestone rocks) in the west part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the areas named “Tresquoy” unless the Rousanne grape variety which grows on “Pradel” area.
Fermentation temperature 18/19 °C
Wine making Skin maceration during 6 hours and fermentation in new oak barrels of 300 l. for the Roussanne only – Direct pressing in a pneumatic press of 30 hl – Settling on the other grape varieties – fermentation in stainless steel vat at 18/19 °C.
