6.38 is the size of the vineyard from which the wine is made, located at an altitude of 350m above sea level, South-West facing and with soil that is mainly clayey mixed with skeleton. The vineyard was planted in 1998 with a density of 4,200 plants per hectare.

Colour

Transparent and very fine purple.

Bouquet

Spicy spices, dark berries, ginger and orange peel, sandalwood and aniseed, roasting and a touch of vanilla emerge immediately, paving the way for a lovely note of sour cherry.

Flavour

Juicy and elegant, with spicyness and strong character. Dense and precise tannins that together with the great freshness and flavor animate a palate where sweetness, spice and noble wood toasting find their place. Closing with black pepper and bitter cocoa from Madagascar, sour cherries, tobacco and liquorice.

Harvest The two varieties are harvested and vinified separately. Harvesting takes place at the beginning of September for the Merlot and at the beginning of October for the Sangiovese.
Vinification After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and softly crushed. Maceration on the skins follows for about 15 days, with frequent pumping over and délestage, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Ageing 18 months in French oak barrels (10-20 hl) for the Sangiovese, 18 months in barriques for the Cabernet and Merlot, 4 months in bottles.
