In the summer of 1924, the imperial councillor Ludwig Krempl, my great-grandfather, surprised his son, Gustav Krempl, with the words: "Go down to the South Styrian Wine Route, there I bought a vineyard, the Rebenhof, and make an inventory!" Rebenhof owned by my family.
On 1 January 2008, my parents took over the Rebenhof, renovated it, extended it and would like to create a harmonious bridge between 'then' and 'now'. Since September 2013, we are officially in the process of converting to biodynamic agriculture. In viticulture, this requires a conversion phase of three years. According to the legislator, the 2014 vintage is still indicated as 'conventional', with the 2015 vintage a conversion note could already be made. Wines that are harvested from mid-September 2016 onwards may, subject to approval by the controls, already bear the biodynamic or 'demeter' note. We look forward to this!
