Gautheron

Domaine Gautheron is located in Fleys, 4 km from Chablis, halfway between Paris and Lyon. The Chablis vineyard extends over limestone hills scattered on either side of a river, the Serein. The continental climate, hot in summer and cold in winter, with fearsome spring frosts, the soil made up of limestone marls (Kimmeridgian), make the wine of Chablis an original wine. Chablis is made from a single grape variety, Chardonnay.

1977: Alain Gautheron, the sixth generation of a winegrower's family, enters the family business run by his father Jean. The estate then covers 8 hectares. The marketing is then 10,000 bottles per year. 1991: Retirement of Jean Gautheron. Alain takes over the entire estate, i. e. 14.5 hectares. 2001: Cyril moves to the family farm. Creation of a new vat house. 2004: Creation of a new reception facility for the harvest and pressing. Today, the Gautheron estate in Chablis covers 25 hectares of vines spread over three appellations: Petit Chablis - Chablis - Chablis - Chablis Premier Cru (Vaucoupin - Mont de Milieu - Fourneaux). We produce 150,000 bottles per year.
