History The Veltliner grape variety, known in Austria and Germany as "Grüner Veltliner", is a very ancient vine, whose first citations date back to the 16th century. In 1884 Goethe reported the synonym "Weissgipfel", or "White Cove", and in Lower Austria it was also known as "Grünmuskateller" or "Green Moscato".
Ampelographic features Leaf: medium size, partially revolving edges, with a sometimes twisted median lobe; Quinquelobata, profoundly jagged; Smooth top page; Lower page aracnoidea; Greenish-grayish, with bulging surface; U open pectoral breast; Partially red ribs on both faces. Bunch: large, pyramidal, winged, wide, compact but sometimes spatulate due to blossoming blossom; Medium-length peduncle. Acino: green-yellow, with brown spots on the side exposed to the sun, spherical, small; Consistent skin; Pleasant taste flesh; Medium length pedicels; Detachment of the acinar from the difficult pediment.
