History The Foglia Tonda vine, practically disappeared, was recently rediscovered in the Chianti area. There is no reliable information on its origins: the Di Rovasenda (1877) declared to have found it in the vineyards of the Castle of Brolio del Barone Ricasoli. Combined with the other typical grape varieties of the Chianti area, it gives the wine greater strength and makes it more suitable for aging.
