The first vintage of Santa Cristina was produced in 1946, becoming in time a point of reference for connoisseurs, and not only that, thanks to an unwavering commitment to quality. Just like a good story, Santa Cristina never gets old.

The care and attention always given to the vineyards and in the cellar have been the stimulus for constant innovation and to deal with native and international varietals, giving rise to a family of different products but distinguished by the same style, the result of an unbreakable bond between the vineyard, terroir, and human labor.

The products of the family Santa Cristina were born from this simple philosophy, thanks to an ongoing dialogue with the earth. Since 1946 continues this dedication, to keep still pristine quality of Santa Cristina.

Story The DOC ORVIETO was recognized in 1971 and in the last forty years has seen incredible growth both quantitative and qualitative: Orvieto is one of the best known Italian white wines in the world and represents alone about three quarters of production of wine DOC Umbria. The DOC area is divided into Orvieto Classico, which represents the area around the rock of tuff on which lies the town of Orvieto and the surrounding area, and Orvieto, which completes the north and south. The geological components of the territory - of volcanic origin - together with the favorable and unique microclimate that distinguishes the valleys of Paglia and lower Tiber, are the basis of oenological fortune which from time immemorial are at one with the city. Not by chance, in fact, Orvieto is one of the few cities in the world whose name coincides with that of its territory wine.
Origin Cortona (Arezzo)
Harvest Second week of the month of September.
Wine making The Procanico and Grechetto grapes were picked separately and were then given a soft an delicate destemming and pressing. The resulting must was chilled to a temperature of 50° Fahrenheit (10°) to assist a natural static settling of impurities and then went into stainless steel tanks, where it fermented at a temperature held to a maximum of 64° Fahrenheit (18° centigrade).
Aging The wine was then held in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 50° Fahrenheit. The preparation of the wine in small lots prior to bottling maintained a notable freshness and fragrance.
