Description

This is the wine that officially launched the story of Braida: the first grapes used to make this wine were grown in the vineyard owned by grandma Caterina, and granddad wrote the words “La Monella” in chalk on the most exuberent barrel of Barbera. It grows in young vineyards, is lively and has never changed, perfect in its original simplicity.

Giacomo Bologna began its relationship with Barbera in 1961 creating the Monella: the flagship wine, the hymn to joy and vitality, the will to live. Today, so many years after Giacomo and his wife Anna have gone, the torch was passed to their sons Giuseppe and Raffaella, and little has changed. Braida is still the leader of the Monferrato, winery with a modern and dynamic economy and a strong image. 500,000 bottles produced each year, sold around the world is the proof. Read more
