- Start up year: 1983
Gerin the family is located in the heart of the vineyards of Côte Rôtie in the village of Ampuis, for 6 generations. This vineyard located 30km south delyon, is the largest appellation in northern Rhone Valley and also one of the smallest because it extends only over about 280Ha. The influence of Mediterranean climates e t continental gives tannic wines, powerful, but also elegant and silky. The grape variety "Syrah" is sometimes mixed with Viognier to bring more finesse to the wines.
Jean-Michel Gerin Area was created in 1983, a purchase of a plot in Côte-Rôtie symbolizing that creation. Thereafter it was in 1987 that the first bottle is born, thanks to the resumption of the family farm (vines of Marcel and Alfred Gerin Gerin grandfather and father). Read more
