Description
What kind of wine it is
Belnero Toscana is an enveloping red wine by Banfi, the result of a structured blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. This Tuscan red offers the palate a powerful yet smooth structure, supported by well-balanced acidity and enriched with sweet, elegant tannins. Its perfect balance culminates in a long and persistent finish, making it the ideal companion for roast meats, game-based dishes and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the Montalcino area, a prestigious wine-producing region that showcases the estate's high vocation. The wine's complexity derives from the composition of diverse soils: ranging from sandy-clay sediments rich in pebbles, which ensure optimal drainage, to clay and limestone sections capable of retaining precious moisture reserves. This variety of soils results in a wine with a deep red colour and vivid ruby highlights.
How it is produced
The process begins with temperature-controlled fermentation in combined steel and French oak vats. This is followed by 12-14 months of ageing in French oak barriques and casks, concluding with an appropriate period of rest in the bottle. The entire process gives rise to an intense olfactory bouquet, dominated by sweet notes of plum and blackberry jam, harmoniously intertwined with spicy hints of vanilla, coffee aromas and delicate nuances of tobacco.
History and Curiosities
