Description
What type of wine it is
Prestige Lugana from the Ca Maiol winery is a still white wine produced entirely from Trebbiano di Lugana grapes in Lombardy. It is a Lugana with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) status, featuring a structured, fresh and mineral profile that expresses a dynamic and linear style. On the nose, it offers elegant fruity and floral aromas, accompanied by fine mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, supported by a lively structure that evolves towards a long and elegant finish. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and clarity of the fruit. This wine is ideal for accompanying fish-based dishes, seafood crudité, poultry, risottos and grilled vegetables.
Where it comes from
The grapes destined for the production of Prestige Lugana come from the Desenzano del Garda area, located in the heart of the Lugana appellation, south of Lake Garda. The vineyards benefit from a temperate microclimate, constantly mitigated by the beneficial influence of the lake waters. This favourable climatic condition allows the grapes to ripen optimally. The soils in the area are characterised by a strong clay and limestone component, which gives the grapes, and consequently the wine, its typical savoury character and remarkable structure. The interaction between the climate and soil composition in this area results in a clear expression of terroir in the glass.
How it is produced
The production process of Prestige Lugana begins with a rigorous selection of Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, sourced from medium-aged vines. Once in the cellar, the bunches undergo soft pressing to gently extract the free-run must. Fermentation takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks, a technical choice aimed at enhancing the varietal aromatic component and maintaining a linear and vibrant profile. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a period of bottle ageing that lasts until the spring following the harvest. This final step allows the different components to integrate harmoniously, ensuring the wine retains its characteristic freshness before being released onto the market.

Starting with a single farmhouse, over the decades it has expanded both in terms of structures and vineyards, thus expanding a unique offer for the denomination. We are in the Lugana area, a harmony of flavours and atmospheres that extends south of Lake Garda over a unique territory.
The calcareous soil, the result of a millennial process, and the typical lake climate contribute to making this an ideal place for growing vines. It is here that delicate white wines with an unmistakable freshness are born, wines that are genuine expressions of the territory in which they are born. Read more
