Description

What kind of wine it is

Passerina Belisario is a still white wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica from the Marche region, made from Passerina grapes and vinified in steel. In the glass, it reveals a delicate bouquet on the nose, characterised by notes of peach, mango and jasmine flowers. On the palate, it is a medium-bodied wine, appreciated for its easy drinking and pronounced freshness. The sip offers a pleasant fruity note and a slightly tangy yet always balanced profile, making it ideal for pairing with fish dishes, delicate first courses or white meats.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in the heart of the Piceno wine region, specifically in the hilly area of Offida. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 180 and 250 metres, with a favourable southern exposure. The rooting in loose soils is essential to enhance the natural freshness and varietal tension of the Passerina. The agronomic management involves a double Guyot training system with careful inter-row cultivation, ensuring ideal vegetative development to bring the bunches to perfect ripeness.

How it is produced

Production begins with a harvest carefully planned based on monitoring acidity and sugars. In the winery, the grapes undergo static cold settling and gentle pressing. The white fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for about twenty days, using selected yeasts. The process concludes with a five-month maturation in steel, a crucial step to preserve the aromatic clarity and purity of the fruit before bottling.

History and Curiosities

The vines for this Passerina date back to 2002 and are 23 years old. An interesting fact concerns its origin: the grapes are vinified by a partner winery in the heart of the Piceno wine region, strictly following company protocols. Afterwards, the wine is matured and bottled directly at the Belisario producer's cellar. The wine is also presented in a distinctive, lightweight Burgundy bottle in a dead leaf colour.
