After Don Jose èerfected his bold new Cazadores Tequila, it's said he hid the recipe in the wall of his house, guarding it as his most prized possession. For 51 years, Cazadore remained a family secret, until Don Jose's Grandson, Don Felix, decided it was time to share Cazadores with the world. In 1973, Don Felix buitl the first commercial Cazadores Distillery, right in the same spot in Arandas where Don Jose first saw a stag in in his agave field.
