Description

Still red from Piedmont, Barolo DOCG, 15% ABV, produced by Vietti. 100% Nebbiolo. 0.75 L bottle, 2016 vintage. A Villero Barolo Riserva made from one of the finest vineyards in the entire Barolo region, in Castiglione Falletto. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand on October 5th. Aged in oak barrels for approximately 30 months. The nose is full-bodied, complex, and elegant. Notes of intense red fruit and plum with hints of undergrowth. Ruby red in color. On the palate, it is balanced, enveloping, silky, and complete. The tannins are present and well-integrated. The finish is long and persistent.

Wine making Following soft crushing, fermentation lasts about 4 weeks in steel vats in contact with the skins with regular pumping over. This time includes pre- and post-fermentation cold maceration using the traditional submerged cap method. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wood.
