From this winery
The Kikusui distillery is located in Kuroshio - a village in the heart of the Kochi region on the southern Shikoku island and is particularly noted for being one of the oldest rum distilleries in Japan. Kuroshio has a favourable climate for the cultivation of sugarcane and in fact the distillery grows its own for the production of its "pure sugarcane" rum; thus offering a guarantee of unequivocal quality by controlling the entire production process. It is characteristic of the tradition and high competence of the Kikusui Distillery, which today surprises us with this unique nectar.
