Description
100% Vermentino from Maremma Toscana DOC, 12.5% ABV, produced by Poggioargentiera. 0.75 L bottle, 2024 vintage. A Vermentino that expresses the essence of the Maremma region, with grapes grown between the hills of Baccinello and the sands of Alberese. Poggio Argentiera was founded in 1997 with the purchase of the Adua farm, dating back to the early 1900s, the era of the Maremma's reclamation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The nose immediately reveals floral notes of rose, wild daisy, and yellow flowers, followed by fruity hints of peach, ripe pear, and mango, finishing with balsamic sensations of elderberry. A clear straw yellow. The palate amplifies the nose, offering a well-balanced freshness and leaving a clean and pleasantly flavorful palate.

The 15 acres (six hectares) of vineyards began to produce grapes for a Morellino di Scansano and the new cellar was built. In 2001 the property was enlarged with the acquisition of another farm, located in Baccinello, a hillside zone in the township of Scansano. New vineyards were added to the older but prestigious existing ones, and today the winery owns over 50 acres (21 hectares) of vineyards all in the Morellino di Scansano appellation. Read more
