Description
Che tipo di distillato è
Piemme Limoncello di Sorrento is a classic Italian lemon liqueur from Campania, crafted using certified lemon peels. It displays a vibrant yellow colour and a crisp citrus profile. At 32% ABV, it offers a smooth, balanced palate and a persistent lemon finish. This pure spirit is best served very cold, ideally at -4°C. Enjoy it neat as a digestif, as a cocktail base, or drizzled over artisan gelato.
Da dove proviene
Produced on the Sorrento Peninsula in Campania, this liqueur is made from lemons grown according to strict regional standards. The Mediterranean climate produces highly aromatic fruit with a unique character. Each lemon is harvested by hand to prevent damage and protect the raw material before infusion. This focus on quality results in a spirit defined by its authentic provenance and clear, focused flavours.
Come viene prodotto
Piemme manages the production cycle in-house, completing it within four to seven days. Selected lemon peels are steeped to infuse pure alcohol and beet sugar with their aromatic oils. This process is carried out without additives, syrups, or artificial sweeteners, ensuring a natural extraction. Once the peels are removed, the liquid is stabilised with L-ascorbic acid to preserve its bright appearance and intense citrus character.
History and Traditions
Rooted in the Sorrento Peninsula, Piemme has meticulously crafted this exquisite Limoncello di Sorrento IGP since 1986. Renowned as “Sorrento’s Gold”, its authentic character is derived from premium lemons, which are carefully hand-harvested to prevent damage. The fragrant peels are naturally infused in pure alcohol and beet sugar, and the liqueur is entirely free from artificial additives or syrups. Boasting a remarkable 350g of lemons per litre, this artisanal liqueur is perfected and bottled within four to seven days, capturing a wonderfully refreshing Mediterranean flavour.

Piemme was founded in 1969 on the initiative of Sorrentine artisans dedicated to the production of lemon-based confectionery specialties and the more traditional Limoncello. Based on this historic recipe, handed down from family to family, and thanks to innovative technological know-how, since 1986 the typical infusion of Sorrento lemon peels, together with baba, has become the product and pride of Piemme.
The passion for territorial traditions and the care for the genuineness of its ingredients pushes PIEMME to follow all the stages of the production chain, from the cultivation, harvesting and peeling of the lemon to the infusion and bottling, which take place in the internal laboratory: The process, artisanal but technologically innovative, is followed by the Quality Control Manager, for the selection of products of excellence. Equal care is reserved for the production of confectionery specialties, being PIEMME among the few companies that can boast an internal pastry laboratory. Read more
