Description
Violano is a pure Sangiovese from the highest and most historic vineyard on Monte Trebbio: 420 meters above sea level, planted in 1960 and facing south‑west. It is usually the last to be harvested, often well into late October. The vineyard is managed with copper and sulfur when needed, green pruning and cluster selection. The grapes ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and age in stainless steel.
The 2024 vintage shows an austere, lean and filigreed character, in the most classic Modigliana style.
