Description
What kind of wine it is
Hure Freres Champagne Memoire Extra Brut is a refined Champagne that precisely and distinctly expresses its terroir. This Extra Brut is crafted from a balanced blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, produced strictly according to the Traditional Method. On the nose, it opens with an intense aroma of fresh walnut and Mirabelle plum, balanced by a lively citrus freshness. On the palate, the Champagne reveals itself as long and pure, displaying remarkable ageing potential destined to develop and enrich over time.
Where it comes from
This wine has its roots in France, in the renowned vineyards of Ludes located on the northern slope of the Montagne de Reims. In this famous wine-growing area, Hure Freres cultivates its vines following organic and sustainable practices, faithfully reflecting the essence of the region. The distinctive characteristics of the various terroirs of origin give the sip a taut and well-defined flavour profile, capable of enhancing the diversity of the soils through a deep and strongly individual structure.
How it is produced
The production process employs a complex technique that combines the Traditional Method with meticulous blending using the solera method. The wine is expertly aged in oak barrels, blending different reserve wines before a further maturation phase. This approach imparts an elegant structure, while keeping the sip dry and vibrant. Served chilled, it is a perfect pairing for shellfish and cheeses, and also beautifully complements dishes based on lean fish or delicate veal escalopes.
History and Curiosities
A true tribute to the tradition of the Montagne de Reims, this cuvée represents the highest expression of the craftsmanship of the Huré Frères family. The wine's elegant complexity is born from the solera method, an exceptional blend that masterfully combines thirty vintages of reserve wines aged in large oak barrels. Highly acclaimed by critics, this Champagne Extra Brut is a faithful snapshot of the maison, able to encapsulate the grapes of the region in their perfect original proportions.
