Description

What kind of wine it is

Vigne Alto Adige Pinot Nero by Tramin is an elegant still red wine that precisely expresses the character of Pinot Noir. Produced in Alto Adige, it stands out for its vibrant ruby red colour and intense aromatic profile. On the palate, it reveals a velvety structure, supported by balanced tannins and a pleasantly tangy note. Dry and full-bodied, it is ideal for pairing with spit-roasted meats, stews, game and spicy cheeses; it is recommended to decant it about an hour before serving to fully appreciate its nuances.

Where it comes from

This Pinot Noir originates in the mountains of Trentino Alto Adige, a region with a long-standing winemaking tradition. The vineyards thrive at an altitude between 420 and 750 metres, benefiting from an ideal mountain climate. The vines, trained using the Guyot system, take root in porphyritic soils enriched with calcareous deposits from dolomitic rock. This unique soil composition imparts a distinct territorial character to the wine, giving it a dry, clean and highly refined profile.

How it is produced

The process begins in October with the harvest, followed by very gentle handling and pressing. Fermentation at a controlled temperature preserves the aromatic integrity of the fruit. Maturation then continues in stainless steel tanks in contact with the fine lees, enriching the wine's structure without compromising its purity. The absence of malolactic fermentation is a deliberate choice to maintain the wine's lively tension, offering a fresh, clean sip with remarkable longevity.

History and Curiosities

Produced among the mountains of Trentino-Alto Adige, the Vigne Alto Adige Pinot Nero 2024 from Cantina Tramin encapsulates the essence of an ancient and generous land. The vineyards grow between 420 and 750 metres above sea level on porphyritic soils with calcareous deposits of dolomitic rock, cultivated using the Guyot system. After harvesting in early October and a gentle pressing, the wine matures on the fine lees in stainless steel. The absence of malolactic fermentation enhances its freshness, faithfully reflecting the vibrant character of high altitude.
