Description

What kind of wine it is

François Mikulski's Meursault is a refined white wine from Burgundy that showcases Chardonnay with exemplary balance. On the palate, it reveals an enveloping profile, able to combine a vibrant mineral drive with a pleasant creamy texture. The sip is silky and smooth, leading to an intensely savoury and persistent finish. The aromatic bouquet recalls pear, yellow fruit and citrus peel, harmoniously integrated with notes of butter, hazelnut and soft caramel nuances. A measured spicy trail completes the experience, dynamically reflecting the identity of its terroir of origin.

Where it comes from

This white originates in the commune of Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy, from a vineyard of about one and a half hectares divided into several plots. The vines, with an average age of thirty-five years, are cultivated following organic practices to respect the plant's natural balance. The roots delve into soils composed of fine calcareous gravel, a specific geological formation that defines the wine's character. This precious territorial matrix imparts a fresh energy and a distinct saline sensation on the finish, outlining the typical and rigorous traits of this renowned production area.

How it is produced

Work in the cellar involves a rigorous separate vinification of the individual plots, a deliberate choice to extract the most authentic essence of each micro-zone. The various lots are subsequently combined in a balanced final blend, aimed at enhancing the overall complexity. Every stage of the process is geared towards preserving the natural mineral strength, seeking the perfect balance between volume and tension on the palate. This meticulous approach results in a limited production of around nine thousand bottles, bearing witness to a production philosophy that places quality at the heart of every decision.

History and Curiosities

Produced in Burgundy, François Mikulski's Meursault 2023 embodies the refined spirit of 1.5 hectares cultivated using organic practices. The 35-year-old vines sink their roots into a soil of fine gravel, rich in limestone. Through skilful separate vinification of the plots and a harmonious final blending, the estate preserves the vibrant minerality of the terroir. With a limited production of around 9,000 bottles a year, this wine offers a profound and authentic experience, a true expression of Meursault's identity.
