Description

What kind of wine it is

The sparkling wine 3Sette Extra Brut from Ca’ di Frara is a refined expression of Lombardy, produced entirely from Pinot Noir grapes. The glass, with its straw-yellow colour, releases clear aromas of ripe fruit, while on the palate it offers a soft and harmonious sip, supported by a lively mineral finish. This gustatory harmony makes it the ideal companion for starters, lean fish dishes and fresh cheeses.

Where it comes from

This sparkling wine originates from vineyards located between Mornico Losana and Oliva Gessi, in the heart of the Lombardy hills. The vines benefit from a hilly microclimate protected from the easterly and westerly winds, which ensures favourable and consistent weather conditions. Mild winters and breezy summers guarantee perfect ripening of the grapes, enhancing their natural aromatic richness. From this territorial context comes a wine with a balanced character and vibrant freshness.

How it is produced

After white vinification, the base sparkling wine undergoes a second fermentation in a pressurised tank following the Martinotti-Charmat method. This process defines the Extra Brut dosage and encourages the development of a fine and persistent perlage, resulting in a clean sensory profile with distinct fruity notes. The result is a wine of marked freshness, with an estimated cellar ageing potential of up to five years. To best appreciate its qualities, a serving temperature of 6-8 °C is recommended.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 1905 in Lombardy, the Ca’ di Frara winery cultivates its own vineyards on the hills of Mornico Losana and Oliva Gessi, in a location sheltered from the winds. Thanks to this privileged microclimate, grapes of excellent quality are produced. The 3Sette Extra Brut is a refined VSQ sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir grapes, produced using the Charmat Method under the careful guidance of oenologist Luca Bellani. This elegant 0.75-litre bottle boasts an alcohol content of 12.5% and a cellar longevity of 3-5 years, offering a tasting experience of pure prestige.

The company was founded in 1905, when Giovanni Bellani, great-grandfather of the current owner Luca, bought a few plots of vine-covered land in the municipality of Mornico Losana, in the hamlet of Casa Ferrari (Cà di Frara in the local dialect), in an ideal position for growing vines.

Combining these with another terroir in the town of Oliva Gessi creates an island of beautiful hills sheltered from the easterly and westerly winds by higher hills, a basin with a microclimate characterised by a mild temperature in winter and uniformly warm and breezy in summer. The land, the climate and 110 years of experience and passion have made it possible to develop wines of excellent quality.
