Domaine Bruno Clavelier
From this winery
Bruno Clavelier is a passionate man who loves his job and his region and the wines reflect this passion. He knows his vineyards through and through and crafts very racy wines that reflect the differences in exposition and soil, terroir, to the extreme. His wines are hard to find as they are fluently purchased by private customers, demand exceeds many times the offer, also the reason why they are not even better known.

| Wine making | Vinification is carried out in open truncated oak vats. Depending on the vintage and the wine, a percentage of whole grapes is kept. Fermentation is done with indigenous yeasts, with some manual punching down. The pressing is delicate (pneumatic press). After settling, the wines are transferred to barrels by gravity. |
| Aging | The wine is aged for 18 months in fine-grained oak barrels of French origin (Tronçais, Allier) with about 30% new barrels for the Grand Cru and 1er Crus, slightly less for the "Village" and "Burgundy" appellations. The crus are neither fined nor filtered. The wine is bottled under neutral gas in order to minimise the amount of S02. The bottling periods are chosen according to the lunar calendar and atmospheric conditions. |
