Description

What type of wine it is

The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze Dry by Bortolomiol is a white sparkling wine with a controlled and guaranteed designation of origin from Veneto, produced from Glera grapes. In the glass, it stands out for its fine and persistent perlage, which heralds clear aromas of white peach, pear, and acacia flowers, accompanied by delicate citrus notes. On the palate, it offers a creamy and enveloping sip, where the balanced sweetness typical of the dosage blends with a lively freshness, leading to a harmonious and fully satisfying finish.

Where it comes from

This sparkling wine originates in Veneto, on the famous Cartizze hill, an area of extreme prestige within the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze territory. The sun-kissed vineyards favour the perfect ripening of the Glera, while the pronounced minerality of the soils gives precision and savouriness to the structure. The management of the rows follows the principles of heroic viticulture on steep and demanding slopes. The seasonal cycle concludes with a rigorous manual harvest, usually carried out in the second half of September.

How it is produced

After soft pressing, the first fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to preserve the integrity of the varietal aromas. The second fermentation occurs according to the Charmat-Martinotti Method in an autoclave for about a month, an ideal technique for guaranteeing refined effervescence. This is followed by ageing in steel on the lees for between one and three months, a key step in defining the velvety texture and a stable flavour profile, in impeccable balance between smoothness and liveliness.

History and interesting facts

Since 1949, the historic Bortolomiol winery, led by an entirely female management team, has been showcasing the prestigious cru of the Cartizze hill. Curated by oenologist Emanuele Serafin, this cuvée is the result of authentic heroic viticulture and a rigorous manual harvest. An international multi-award winner, the refined Cartizze DOCG embodies the precious family tradition, bringing absolute elegance to every toast.

"Giuliano left us a great gift, the desire to look forwards always and imagine the future, among the traditions of our hills and with the constant desire to get better" (Bortolomiol Family)

This is the legacy left by Giuliano to his wife Ottavia and their daughters Maria Elena, Elvira, Luisa and Giuliana, who with a "natural" instinct have not only maintained what their father built up but have also taken on new challenges to ensure the revolution does not come to an end.

Bortolomiol is a strong and tight-knit family made up entirely of women: the mother, the soul and linchpin of this company, and the sisters, the beating heart, who guide and support the family business in the continual challenges to achieve quality, efficiency and effectiveness with an outlook that is always competitive.
