Description
Lindenburg Lagrein is produced in the Alois Lageder cellars, southwest of Lake Caldaro, in the beautiful valley of the province of Bolzano. The estate is in perfect harmony with the territory and all the crops are completely biodynamic, with anthroposophic principles with the aim of combining the scientific reality with the spiritual dimension and making the farm an organic microcosm where man and nature coexist and enrich each other. To achieve this goal, Alois Lageder has undertaken two projects. the Grandorto project, to allow various crops to coexist in addition to viticulture, with the aim of having a responsible and far-sighted agriculture, and the Oxen project, which, with the aim of creating an ecosystem that unites man with flora and fauna, allows oxen to graze in the open air all year round, which, among other advantages, increases the fertility of the vineyards.
The Alois Lageder Lindenburg is produced with grapes from the historic native Lagrein grape variety from the Lindenburg farm near the Talvera river. This article is Included in the "i Capolavori" line, with wines of the highest quality and coming from the best farms of the property with the aim of enhancing their unique characteristics. Produced with the organic-dynamic method with the essential role of the winemaker who identifies himself as a mediator of the microcosm, these noble red grapes are harvested in mid-September. Viticulture takes place in deep, sandy, alluvial soil; the territory is perfect for growing Lagrein, which suffers greatly from the spring-summer humidity and benefits from the fact that Bolzano is one of the hottest cities in Italy in the summer. The fermentation is spontaneous with varying percentages of grapes and precedes maturation in large wooden barrels for several months. Before being sold, it ages in the bottle, resulting in a wine with a vigorous, lively body and rich in tannins, with an optimal aging potential of 3-10 years.
