Description
Barolo Bussia DOCG "Colonnello" is a red produced on the Aldo Conterno estate using a traditional, environmentally friendly method: the vineyards are managed without herbicides or chemical fertilizers and are based on the concept of protecting nature. The winery is located in Monforte d'Alba, a small town in the province of Cuneo, in the Piedmont region. This wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, of the Michet and Lampia varieties. These vines are often replanted in new soils, provided they are rich in clay, limestone, and calcium carbonate. A wine with an intense and aromatic flavor, Barolo Bussia DOCG "Colonnello" is made using a technique that involves hand-picking in mid-October and maceration of the skins in stainless steel tanks. The production process includes fermentation with indigenous yeasts for approximately thirty days, during which the must and skins remain in contact at a temperature of 25-30°C. Once obtained, the red wine is racked several times into special containers and then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 28 months. Barolo Bussia DOCG "Colonnello" can be cellared for many years but can also be enjoyed immediately, perhaps in a large glass, such as a balloon glass.
