Description

It is perhaps the most typical alcoholic beverage in the Canary Islands. It is obtained by combining the Ron Añejo produced from fresh canaria canaria cane juice with local bee honey: therefore no use for neutral alcohol or artificial flavors. Its traditional use is the end of meal, accompanying desserts and a low-grade cocktail ingredient.

Serve at:

12 - 14 °C.

Rum, Cognac, Armagnac (ballon)

From this winery
When Cristoforo Colombo landed on the Canary Islands, sugar cane cultivation had already been developed in the archipelago. Over time, plantations became one of the main pillars of the local economy. From the eighteenth century Rum production was also started, which saw a variant of the island growing up and affirming itself as the true Canarian specialties: Rum mixed with a percentage (2% - 3%) of honey bees. In 2005, this aromatized rum got the name of origin, and opened the market to other innovative types (eg caramel).
Distillery Aldea was founded in 1936 by Manuel Quevedo Alemán on the island of Gran Canaria. Subsequently production was moved to the island of La Palma, where today is managed by the fourth generation of the Quevedo family. The island of La Palma offers the right mix of nature, history, culture, tradition, craftsmanship and quality; current production keeps the same passion for a while, still using the pure virgin juice of distilled cane in the original ancient alambic.
