Description
What kind of wine it is
The Mordese Cabernet Franc from Vallepicciola is a still red wine produced in Tuscany, made from Cabernet Franc grapes. It stands out for its intense ruby hue and a bouquet ranging from notes of plum and cocoa powder, enriched by balsamic and spicy notes. On the palate, it reveals a great structure supported by fine, silky tannins, making each sip clear and enveloping. This profile makes it ideal for pairing with grilled meats, braised dishes and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of the Sienese hills. Here, the vines grow at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres, cultivated following a strict organic and sustainable approach. The soils, rich in limestone, clay, galestro and alberese, give the wine a distinct territorial character and a solid tannic structure. The grapes come from selected parcels, particularly from the prestigious Mordese, Lapina and Poggione vineyards.
How it is produced
Harvesting takes place in the first ten days of October. In the winery, alcoholic fermentation with maceration occurs in temperature-controlled steel tanks for a period of twenty to twenty-five days. The subsequent malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels. The wine matures in wood for fourteen to sixteen months, completing the process with bottle ageing for about ten months, which perfects its elegance and ensures excellent longevity.
