Description

Still red wine from Tuscany, 14% ABV, produced by Teruzzi & Puthod. Blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot. 0.75 L bottle, 2021 vintage. A wine that embodies Tuscan tradition with a modern twist, a tribute to the art of illuminated manuscripts from the Gothic period. Destemming and alcoholic fermentation. Maceration in truncated cone-shaped tanks at 28°C, followed by racking. Aged for 12 months, partly in stainless steel and partly in 3rd-4th passage French oak barriques and tonneaux. It is then aged in tanks for an additional 6 months. On the nose, it presents good intensity and persistence, with woody notes in harmony with the fruity characteristics of this wine. The palate is pleasant yet bold and full-bodied. The tannic note is well-presented yet balanced with the fruit. The aftertaste has a good persistence.

Teruzzi is the contemporary enhancement of ancient Tuscan history and its centuries-old tradition. In 1974, Enrico Teruzzi, an engineer by profession but a winemaker by vocation, founded the winery with the help of his wife Carmen in the enchanting setting of San Gimignano. In 2016, Terra Moretti acquired the winery. Today, they continue Teruzzi’s path of innovation and tradition, leading the winery’s viticulture to achieve important goals while respecting sustainability. Read more

Story A warrior rabbit, armed with lance and shield and riding a chimeric being, a snail with a man's head, accompanies the wine. Drôlerie, babewyn, antics with mysterious or no meaning at all, hybrid creatures, monstrous creations of the fertile medieval imagination, of the irony of the amanuensis monks. A tribute to the symbols and art of the illuminated manuscripts of the Gothic age.
