Description
What type of wine it is
Fanova by Terrecarsiche 1939 is a Puglian red wine that accurately expresses the character of Primitivo from Gioia del Colle. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby-red colour, introducing a deep bouquet dominated by blackberry, sour cherry, plum and cherry jam, enriched by spicy nuances. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, with a full-bodied structure that perfectly balances the intensity of the dark fruit, finishing with a long persistence. This profile makes it the ideal accompaniment to enhance roasted meats, game and a selection of savoury cheeses.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in the heart of Puglia, specifically in the Murgia area between Castellana Grotte and Acquaviva delle Fonti. The vineyards are located at a hilly altitude of between three hundred and three hundred and fifty metres, rooted in a characteristic karst soil. This particular soil composition gives the wine a solid backbone and a distinct flavour identity. The label pays tribute to the history of the region, inspired by the traditional bonfires that have lit the streets since 1691, celebrating the deep link between Puglian viticulture and local festivities.
How it is produced
The vine cultivation follows the Puglian alberello (head-trained) method, which ensures low yields to maximise the aromatic qualities of the clusters. After the harvest, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about fifteen days, favouring optimal extraction. The process is completed with ageing for three months in large French oak barrels, an essential step to harmonise the flavour profile. To fully appreciate every nuance, prior oxygenation in a decanter is recommended, along with a serving temperature between eighteen and twenty degrees.

Ours is a family tradition born in Castellana Grotte - south-east from the city of Bari - and rooted in Puglia, but with a strong commitment towards expanding across the national and international territory. Nestled in the fertile countryside, characterized by a climate that is conducive to making quality wines, our winery operates in the karst lands of the Murge territory, since 1939.
The gradual renewal that has occurred in recent years, the installation of innovative systems for monitoring grapes, and the aging of the finished product, are only the first steps of a company that is preparing itself for future challenges.
Today, Terrecarsiche1939 produces wines with Protected Geographical Indications (IGT) from Gioia del Colle and the Itria Valley, also overlooking the area of Castel del Monte, mainly emphasizing the autochthonous vineyards of Puglia that are by now very well-known. Read more
