Where it comes from
This red originates from the Cannubi Boschis parcel, on the historic hill located in the municipality of Barolo. Sandrone has tended these vineyards since 1985, dedicating the wine's name, Aleste, to his family. The vines sink their roots into a marly and moderately compact soil, a geological factor that determines the notable tannic structure and concentration of the sip. The climate trend defines the aromatic expression of the fruit, ensuring an ideal balance with the natural freshness on the palate.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with a spontaneous fermentation activated by indigenous yeasts, carried out together with maceration in steel vats. After racking and complete malolactic fermentation, the wine undergoes an important maturation phase in French oak barrels. This targeted passage in wood supports the substance without altering the natural expressiveness of the Nebbiolo. Finally, a long period of bottle ageing allows the wine to rest, definitively consolidating the overall balance, the elegance of the tannins and the acidic tension.
