Description

From Monferrato to Langa. Originating in the hills of Monferrato, in the second half of the 19th century the Barbera vine also reached the vine-growing lands of the Roero and then the Langa. On these hills it has selected, often in competition with Nebbiolo, the spaces that are most congenial to it, those where marly and compact soils prevail and where the plants can benefit from the sun's rays for longer. This special symbiosis gave rise to the Barbera d'Alba wine, fruity and savoury, another protagonist of Piedmont's vineyards and cellars. Balance and harmony. In this productive universe there are seven vineyards that we cultivate with Barbera grapes on the hills of Barolo; each one expresses original characters, dictated by the peculiarities of the soil and microclimate. At each harvest we pick their grapes by hand and vinify them separately to translate the references of origin into wines. The blending of these wines gives rise to our Barbera d'Alba, which we mature for 15 months in wooden containers, especially new containers that best balance the wine's natural structure, deeply inspired by fruitiness, fragrance and tannin that is never too incisive.

"Le Garagiste". Our story started in the 70s in our Family garage and since then it's been brought forward with heart, commitment and much presence of mind. From the simple things, Sandrone's philosophy was born. Today as much as yesterday, but with stronger and solid roots, we keep on doing our work well.

Since the first beginning of his story, Luciano Sandrone has always had a clear philosophy of quality in mind, which has always been fully shared with his wife Mariuccia, his brother Luca and his daughter Barbara. Year after year this philosophy has been refined.
