Description

What kind of wine it is

Langhe Nebbiolo by Prandi is a still red wine that combines freshness with a harmonious profile. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby colour, enriched with elegant garnet hues. The bouquet reveals notes of red cherry, raspberry, rose petals and light spicy hints. On the palate, it shows lively acidity and fine tannins, finishing with a clean and balanced aftertaste. Served at an ideal temperature between 14 and 16 degrees, this still red wine pairs perfectly with first courses, roasted white meats, flavourful cured meats and medium-aged cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the Langhe, in Piedmont, a region historically dedicated to viticulture. The Prandi winery has its roots in the 1920s, defining its identity from the 1960s onwards. The estate covers a small area of five hectares, ensuring direct and meticulous care of the vineyards. This deep attention to the land is reflected in the glass, offering a faithful and balanced expression of Langhe, a true oenological emblem of Piedmont.

How it is produced

Made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, the production process is overseen by oenologist Alessandro Prandi. The solid structure on the palate gives the wine remarkable ageing potential, capable of evolving over ten to fifteen years. To enhance the clarity of its floral and fruity aromas, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving. This allows the wine to open up, enabling full appreciation of the authentic expressiveness of the Nebbiolo variety.

History and Curiosities

The Prandi Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 carries forward a legacy whose roots date back to the 1920s, enhanced by Giovanni's vision in the 1960s. Born from a small estate of just five hectares in Piedmont, this pure Nebbiolo expresses the authentic elegance of the region. The dedication of oenologist Alessandro Prandi is reflected in a limited production of 25,000 bottles, capable of evolving magnificently over time. The excellence of this Langhe DOC is sealed by the prestigious 94 points from James Suckling, confirming its vibrant identity.

The "Prandi" winery was founded in the 1920s thanks to the initiative of grandfather Farinetti Cav. Maggiorino, who at the time had the idea of selling part of the wine he produced for family use. In the 1960s his grandson Giovanni joined the business, giving new strength and direction to the estate. This marked the turning point that still defines the character and identity of Prandi’s wines today. Read more
