Description
What type of wine it is
Nodi by Nino Franco is a refined Extra Brut sparkling wine from Veneto, an authentic expression of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore designation. Produced from Glera grapes using the Charmat method, it stands out in the glass for its fine and energetic perlage. The aromatic bouquet offers distinct scents of wisteria and rose, combined with lively notes of pear, gooseberry and lime. On the palate, it is intense and almost velvety, supported by a fresh acidity that balances the notes of ripe fruit and concludes with a savoury and pleasantly saline finish.
Where it comes from
The roots of this Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore are in Veneto, in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene area, within the single plot of Colle del Vento, a historic vineyard constantly exposed to local winds. The soil is characterised by fluvio-glacial deposits, a geological conformation that infuses the wine with its typical minerality. This plot preserves century-old vines and ancient Glera clones, propagated directly in the field via grafting. The natural synergy between exposure to the winds and the particularity of the soil ensures a strong territorial identity in every glass.
How it is produced
The processing of the grapes begins with gentle pressing and de-stemming, followed by a primary fermentation at a controlled temperature. To enrich the structure and complexity of the flavour, the wine rests in prolonged contact with the lees. The secondary fermentation takes place using the Charmat method inside stainless steel tanks, a technique ideal for preserving the freshness of the floral and fruity aromas intact. Finally, the sparkling wine completes its production cycle with a few months of bottle ageing, reaching a perfect structural balance.

But it was the "quiet revolution" of Primo Franco, Antonio’s grandson, that brought the wind of change, opening the doors of the best restaurants in the world to his Valdobbiadene Prosecco wines. Primo bravely crossed the Piave, leaving behind an agricultural world that exclusively evolved around itself.
Primo’s new wave of Prosecco – authorial, intimate and identifying – is the embodiment of his experiences: travels, encounters, meetings with chefs and gastronomes of the Nouvelle Cuisine, studies in enology and passion for architecture, as well as conversations and drinks with friends.
Today, after making history for a century, Nino Franco is the icon of Valdobbiadene Prosecco. While observing the utmost respect for his homeland, he undid – using quality and imagination – all the prejudices against an easy and standardized wine, one considered as an endowment of a rustic and pragmatic culture.
