Description

What type of wine it is

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Incanto by Marramiero is a red wine from Abruzzo with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata status, fermented in steel, with a deep ruby colour and aromas of prunes, dates and fine spices. The palate is warm and enveloping, characterised by a structure that harmoniously balances power and elegance. Awarded 93 points by James Suckling, this wine enhances the characteristics of the Montepulciano variety, offering vigorous tannins and a pleasant fullness. To enjoy it at its best, one hour of breathing is recommended before serving.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the most suitable areas of Abruzzo, between the plots of the Tenute di Rosciano and the Tenuta Amarello in Ofena. The vineyards, trained using the espalier system, grow on deep and rich soils with a marked clay component. The particular nature of the soil helps to define the wine's structure, ensuring an intense flavour profile and a long finish on the palate, a distinctive hallmark of the most authentic regional expressions.

How it is produced

The production process involves fermentation in Ganimede fermenters and steel vats, with prolonged maceration on the skins to optimally extract colour and body. After racking, maturation takes place entirely in steel, followed by a period of rest that completes an ageing process of 30 months. This technical choice preserves the integrity of the fruit and the spicy notes, giving the wine evolved tannins and a harmonious bouquet.

We have been growing vines since the turn of the last century, producing wines that can be easily recognised by the labels bearing the founder’s unmistakable seal. A D and an M intertwine in a root, knotty and stubborn, determined not to detach itself from the ground on which it grew. A mark representing wines that continuously strive to outdo themselves.

We know every plant inside out and each day we care for them all as they grow, with methods handed down from generation to generation, integrated with innovative viticulture research, experimentation and continuous training. The identity of our wines, characterised by a strong territorial mark, is formed in a specific process for each vine and each wine, from the plant to the cellar.
