Description
What kind of wine it is
Lointier Champagne Mellifera is a Blanc de Noirs Champagne with an Extra Brut profile. It is made from a structured blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes and displays a straw yellow colour enhanced by a fine perlage. On the nose, distinct aromas of red fruits stand out, leading to a dry, harmonious and persistent palate. It boasts excellent ageing potential, with the ability to evolve in the bottle for five to ten years.
Where it comes from
It originates in the Vallée de la Marne, in the Crèzancy area, within the Champagne region. Lointier practises organic and sustainable viticulture, preserving the balance of the ecosystem. The name of the cuvée is a tribute to the bee, a symbol of local biodiversity. This agricultural approach aims for the pure expression of the terroir, focusing on the quality of the raw materials and respect for nature.
How it is produced
Production follows the principles of the Traditional Method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes are vinified as white to create a Blanc de Noirs with a bold and dry character. This process results in a broad and well-structured Champagne. To best appreciate its nuances, the recommended serving temperature is 6–8 °C. It is ideal for gastronomic pairings with refined starters, fish dishes or cheeses.
