Description

Carte Blanche Brut is a French sparkling wine with character, elegant, fine, and complex. Produced by the Jean Michael cellar, a family-run business that has specialized in traditional winemaking for over 160 years, it has obtained and proudly maintains the AOC Champagne Brut certification of controlled origin. It is made from a skillful blend of 40% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir, and 50% Pinot Meunier grapes, both white and red. The vineyards located in the Champagne region are lovingly tended, respecting the environment, adopting appropriate working methods according to the dictates of organic farming. The vines draw nourishment from the earth and the sky, favoring a calcareous-clayey soil and a constant, cold climate. Carte Blanche Brut is the result of an extraordinary blend of reserve wines, subjected to further aging, and three unique cuvées, the result of different terroirs, winemaking processes, and vintages. It is produced using the classic brut method of sparkling winemaking, with secondary fermentation in the bottle. Aging is its highlight and takes place in traditional cellars dating back to the 18th century. This additional process gives the wine a pleasant structure and creaminess. Intense, complex, and smooth, it is characterized by notes of ripe fruit well-blended with marzipan.

From this winery
  • Start up year: 1847
Established in 1847, and therefore with more than 160 years of viticultural tradition in Champagne, is this enough to produce a good champagne? Heritage only becomes valuable if it is maintained, enriched, and sublimated before being passed on. The heritage to which we refer is a skilful mix of passion, reason and love.

First there is the soil, this unique place where the vine blossoms, drawing its richness between the sky and the earth. We help the vine grow by using appropriate work methods. Rather shortly trimmed, a carpet of grass in its roots, approved organic farming treatments being used on one section of the vineyard, integrated farming in order to control productivity, encourage a good root system and draw heavily from healthy resources to feed our grapes.

Our vineyard is rich in biodiversity. From old vineyards almost 50 years old, to younger ones, with nine different vintages and the three traditional Champagne grape varieties, we have all of the ingredients to provide our wines with finesse, elegance and character.
