Description

What kind of wine is it

Origine is a Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut by J. M. Goulard, made from an organic blend of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it stands out for its intense straw yellow colour and fine perlage. On the nose, it reveals clear aromas of red fruits accompanied by fragrant brioche notes. On the palate, it is very dry, with a harmonious, complex profile and a pleasantly persistent finish.

Where does it come from

J. M. Goulard's Champagne originates in the heart of the Massif de Saint-Thierry, a French area with a strong territorial identity. The organic viticulture practised on sandy soils allows the Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir to express extraordinary fruity purity. This unique environment is the key to the balanced style and elegant texture that define the wine.

How is it produced

The winemaking process is based on the Traditional Method, an essential step to give depth to the blend. The wine rests in the cellar with a minimum lees ageing of 720 days, a maturation that enhances its structure and complexity. The Extra Brut dosage ensures a dry, clean taste, preserving the aromatic integrity of the fruit. The ideal serving temperature to appreciate every nuance is between 6 and 8 degrees.

The current heritage of the House J. M. Gouilard has been started by Paul Goulard. With his caring and generous nature, he devoted his life to working the land as a farmer and winegrower. Later, Jean-Marie Goulard, his son, worked with him in the family estate.

In 1978, Jean-Marie and Martine found the bases of their own estate. Dedicated to the quality of their champagnes, Jean-Marie and Martine practiced traditional vititculture. In the same way as their gardeners and farmes ancestors did, the take care of their cultures daily.

The three sons of the House: Sébastien, Sylvain and Damien, had a childhood paced by the visit of J. M. Goulard Champagne connaisseurs. Damien take over the operation in 2012. The desire to perpetuate the tradition of these parents but also the desire to find the terroir of the Massif de St Thierry in wines are his motivation.
